Knicks President Steve Mills Reportedly Laying Groundwork to Fire David Fizdale
By Adam Weinrib

The Year One to Year Two evaporation of David Fizdale's coaching reputation appears to be developing again for the second straight tenure.
After exceeding expectations in changing the culture during his early days in NYC last summer, David Fizdale's bizarre rotations, strange strategy, and low-effort team performance have his job status in serious doubt only 10 games into the 2019-20 season.
Unable to maximize a roster overstuffed with power forwards (that's another story entirely), it now seems Fizdale might not last beyond this season's midpoint, and team president Steve Mills may already be orchestrating his ouster.

Of course, every discussion of Fizdale's tenure must be further contextualized by noting this exact thing happened in Memphis.
By the way, the Grizzlies fired David Fizdale 19 games into his second season with the franchise.

Knicks are 10 games in and Fizdale's ouster is already being openly discussed.
Though Fiz was a beloved assistant during Miami's glory years, and though the stench of a botched free agency is far from his fault, this is still the second consecutive disaster he's presided over.
During an emotional postgame emergency press conference following the Knicks' blowout home loss to Cleveland, Mills and GM Scott Perry both emphasized urgency, though they made no rulings on job status (and seemed to understand that their roles could be in danger, too).

Though there was no mention of Fizdale's dismissal, the unexpected nature of this press conference certainly should've made him uncomfortable. And, per reports, the action behind the scenes should only further disquiet him.
