Knicks Reportedly Considering Big 1-Year Deal for DeMarcus Cousins as Plan B in Free Agency
By Thomas Carannante

Was this the best pairing we didn't know about all along?
The New York Knicks are desperate for a star player and DeMarcus Cousins needs a team that will give him the ball as much as he wants. His flop of a year with the Golden State Warriors doesn't have suitors lining up around the block for his services.
But the Knicks could reportedly come calling if they blow it with their top free-agent targets.

We must say, it's not a bad idea. If they strike out on the players they want to sign long-term, what's the harm in paying big short-term money to secure big names and keep the false hope festering among fans? It's the perfect modern day American plan.
After all, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard are hardly guaranteed for the Knicks.
The Knicks have long been planning to pursue the likes of Durant, Kyrie Irving and Kawhi Leonard in free agency but are widely expected to turn to short-term offers if they miss out on their primary targets

Nonetheless, let's not pretend this wouldn't be a disaster for the Knicks. They've had high hopes about this free agent class for years and they're going to spend big money on a guy who couldn't even prove his worth on the best team in the NBA?
Braces yourselves, Knicks fans.
