Knicks Reportedly Considering Trading Out of No. 3 Overall Pick
By Jerry Trotta

Just when you think that the New York Knicks have turned the corner of mediocrity and ineptitude!
According to basketball junkie haven, Real GM, the franchise is considering trading out of the No. 3 overall pick ahead of the June 20 NBA Draft.
Their moronic rationalization for doing so? The Knicks view the idea of trading down as a means to acquire pieces that would better fit and compliment a star they MIGHT land in free agency, such as Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

Per the report, the Knicks are considering trading the No. 3 pick to the Atlanta Hawks for No's. 8 and 10.
Let's get this straight. New York FINALLY gets over the hump and has the potential to draft a legitimate NBA-ready baller in R.J. Barrett, who is enamored with the idea of playing at MSG by the way, and the franchise decides to trade back in a draft class that is considered abnormally top heavy?
And it's all to draft a player that would hypothetically fit around a potential free agent signing. And who's to say that the Knicks are the surefire destination for KD and Kyrie? Durant's 2016 decision to join the Warriors is a testament to the FACT that anything can happen when July rolls around.
Some #Knicks pre-draft buzz: expect a wide net to be cast w/ workouts, including names that aren't projected No. 3. Why? 1. due diligence. 2. to see if there's value in quantity if there's a deal to be made to trade down. That 3 pick, however, seems to have the most value.

And don't fool yourselves. The likelihood of trading for Anthony Davis is not elevated with offering two top-10 picks in a deal. New Orleans is stubborn, not stupid. The No. 3 overall pick coupled with several assets remains the most viable option.
