Public Memorial for Kobe Bryant and Helicopter Crash Victims to Be Held at Staples Center on Feb. 24

Basketball fans have been grieving the loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the seven others who lost their lives in the helicopter crash on Jan. 26 in Calabasas. Tributes to the Mamba have come from across the globe in various forms and fashions, and now fans in Los Angeles will be able to pay their respects at a public memorial.
Los Angeles is set to host a public memorial at Staples Center on Feb. 24 for Bryant and the eight others who passed away.
The entire city will be gathered outside the Staples Center at LA Live in order to celebrate the life of Kobe, who became an NBA icon in the Los Angeles. Even the date of the memorial is a tribute to Gianna and Kobe, as she wore the No. 2 jersey, while Bryant ended his career rocking the No. 24.
Many fans gathered at LA Live in the days following Bryant's passing to mourn, and now an even bigger crowd will converge outside Staples Center for the official public memorial.
It will be an emotional day in Southern California on the 24th, but one which will be remembered forever.
