The Chicago Cubs offseason revolved around one player this season -- their former MVP winner Kris Bryant. Bryant had an eventful winter as he lost his service time grievance against the Cubs and spoke out about how MLB commissioner Rob Manfred referred to the World Series trophy as a "piece of metal." He also had his name thrown around in trade rumors which were sure to stay on Bryant's mind.

USA Today sat down with Kris Bryant to discuss how he feels about free agency, social media and of course, the trade rumors circulating the air.

Bryant basically says that he can't control what his future holds. The Cubs are open to trading the 28-year-old third basemen and it is something that is out of Bryant's control.

"I can control how I approach my workday, how I treat people, and how I treat my family. All of that is way more important to me," said Bryant.

Bryant also discussed how important it is to have a no-trade clause implemented in his next contract.

"It just gives you clarity in where you’ll be. If you have that in your contract, you know the team’s 100% committed to you being there," Bryant stated.

All KB wants for himself is to be compensated fairly and play for a team that wants to build around him. The Cubs still have time to turn around that perception, but it's not going well so far.
