Remember in 2015 when the Chicago Cubs kept star prospect Kris Bryant in the minor leagues until two weeks after the season started in order to exploit the service time rules and gain an extra year of team control? Remember when Bryant and Scott Boras filed a grievance against the league? That whole fiasco is still going on.

Bryant and the Cubs are still trading barbs in their prolonged litigation battle, and the fact that it's dragged on this long is a terrible look for the organization.

That spring, Bryant hit .425 with nine home runs, so the Cubs would have a hard time claiming that his performance was the reason they kept him in Iowa.

Bryant and the Cubs only risk further alienating the two parties with these ongoing litigation battles. With the team floating him in trade rumors for seemingly the entire offseason, trying to stick it to Bryant in a prolonged legal battle isn't exactly the best way to try and repair their relationship.

Bryant and the Cubs seem to be no closer to a resolution, as the two parties keep drifting further apart the longer this goes on. This needs to end soon, as it's a debacle which has already persisted for far too long.
