VIDEO: Kris Bryant Blasts Astros Over Cheating Scandal at Cubs Spring Training
By Sean Facey
The Houston Astros have drawn the ire of seemingly every player and fan around the league. After Cody Bellinger and Trevor Bauer were among those tearing into them on Friday, star Chicago Cubs third baseman joined in come Saturday, shaming the Astros for their sign-stealing scandal straight away.
"What a disgrace that was," said the three-time All-Star and former NL MVP. "It's just hard to believe. It's sad."
Bryant didn't hold back on the players' apologies, calling them insincere and disingenuous. "If they didn't get caught, they'd still be doing it," he said.
Put simply, Bryant, like his star counterparts across the league, is sickened and shocked by both the scandal itself and the lack of apparent remorse so many Houston players have exhibited in the aftermath.
Players laying into the Astros like this has become something of a daily occurrence now that Spring Training is in full swing, and it's pretty indicative of the regard they're now held in by the rest of the league.
Bryant's angry comments weren't the first directed at Houston, and they certainly won't be the last.
