Kristaps Porzingis' Embarrassing Dunk Ruined Luka Doncic's Cool Attempt at Miami Heat Reenactment
By Michael Luciano
During the Dallas' Mavericks' 122-111 win over the Detroit Pistons, breakout Dallas superstars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis tried their very best to recreate the iconic LeBron James-Dwyane Wade photo in which Wade confidently struts away while looking at the camera as James throws down a vicious dunk. Their effort was...subpar, as Porzingis' goofy pose at the end of his dunk made this mimicry clearly inferior to the original.
Porzingis' odd pose as he finished off the slam sapped all the coolness out of this photo.
You don't have to be a stuffy art snob to see that LeBron soaring through the air in preparation for a mighty tomahawk slam and Wade gliding away from the basket with his arms outstretched is infinitely more pleasing to the eye than whatever Porzingis and Doncic are in the middle of.
This pic didn't come close to what is essentially the NBA's version of the Mona Lisa, but any chance this recreation had of capturing the spirit of the original was ruined by Porzingis.
