Kyle Kuzma Blasts ESPN's Max Kellerman Over Blasphemous James Harden Take
By James.r
Kyle Kuzma didn't exactly agree with ESPN "First Take" host Max Kellerman's most recent opinion. When asked if James Harden belonged on the All-NBA First Team to which he was recently named, Kellerman responded with a resounding "nope," an answer that left most NBA fans scratching their heads. That includes Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, who had something to say about Max's scorching-hot take on Twitter.
In Kellerman's defense, it doesn't seem that he was saying that Harden shouldn't be on the All-NBA First Team as it's currently constructed, but rather was saying that the parameters should be changed. First off, he claimed that the voting should include playoff performance, and secondly, he said that because the NBA is now in an era of "positionless basketball," it should simply be comprised of the five best players regardless of position. Even so, it's a tough needle for Max to attempt to thread.
It's hard to take Kellerman seriously on this one. Harden averaged 36.1 points per game this season, a number that has only ever been eclipsed by Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan. He also nailed 378 (!!) three pointers, second all-time only to Steph Curry's unbelievable 402 threes in 2015-16.
Kellerman is a man who makes a living on his controversial statements. On this one, though, Kuzma is right: Max crossed the line between controversial and flat-out ridiculous.
