Kyrie Irving Reportedly Didn't Like Boston and Had Issues With Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge
By Michael Luciano

As if you needed any more clarification, the relationship between Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics was as poor a union as oil and water.
According to the latest reports, Irving, who is all but certain to leave in free agency, didn't like living in the city of Boston. In addition, he never saw eye to eye with GM Danny Ainge or head coach Brad Stevens.

While we were collectively blinded by the Irving trade and how shocking it was, a broader perspective might have been able to see the fact that Irving and Stevens were just not meant for each other.
Stevens adheres to a strict system and is at his best coaching a team without an established star. Kyrie is a ball-dominant guard that demands the offense runs through him.
Given the sports culture around Boston and the Celtics fanbase, Irving's personality and style always seem incongruous with what the team expected and demanded of him.
we tried hard, but tbh boston didn’t like kyrie

As Kyrie prepares to join his third team in four seasons, Danny Ainge and the Celtics are left to ruminate on what when wrong and when.
