Kyrie Irving Reportedly Refused to Sign Basketballs With Celtics Teammates for Charity
By Max Scoli
With NBA free agency just two days away, rumors have started to pick up regarding Kyrie Irving's potential destinations this offseason. Although several teams are in the hunt, it appears that the Boston Celtics have absolutely no chance to re-sign their star point guard.
And in one of Kyrie's latest act of defiance against the Celtic organization, the All-NBA standout refused to sign basketballs to benefit one of the team's charitable partners.
At the end of the regular season, Boston set up 100 balls to send to their charity partners after being signed by members of the team. Every single member of the Celtics participated-- except for Mr. Flat Earth.
Irving thought he had better things to do with his time and refuses to help out. When pressed to do it by management, he simply replied, “No, I’m not interested in that," the reports say.
It is clear that Kyrie Irving values getting what's owed to him more than giving back to his community.
He has been so focused on how his future in the NBA will play out that he has lost his sense of community involvement. Instead, he's behaved selfishly and found himself preoccupied with his financial standing and which city he wants to live in.
Not a good look, Uncle Drew. Not a good look at all.
