Lakers' Danny Green Reveals He Proposed to Girlfriend in Adorable Instagram

Lakers guard Danny Green is a two-time NBA champion, but his greatest triumph may have come off the court Monday after he announced on Instagram that he's now engaged to be married.

Green posted a heartfelt message to his fiancée, where he joked that he couldn't "afford the ring she deserved until now."

Green and his betrothed, Blair Bashen, have been together five years. Over that time, he has played in San Antonio, Toronto, and now Los Angeles.

Green will look to snag a different kind of ring this summer -- a third NBA championship with a third team -- as his Lakers currently sit with the best record in the league. He has had another solid season with LA, averaging 8.2 points and 1.2 steals while shooting 38% from three-point range and playing impact perimeter defense.

Green's experience, defensive capabilities, and long-range shooting is what led him to LA this offseason. He is always a great player to have coming off the bench if you're looking to win a championship, as the Raptors learned last year.

The Lakers are a favorite to win the NBA title when the season resumes at the end of July. Green will undoubtedly be a major part of the team when the playoffs begin, and he'll be doing it with a renewed sense of purpose in light of this major life moment.
