Lakers Reportedly Interested in Derrick Favors and Bradley Beal This Summer

The winds of change are swirling in Los Angeles, and the Lakers have their eyes on some interesting options during the upcoming offseason.
Utah Jazz power forward Derrick Favors and Washington Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal are reportedly two of Rob Pelinka's key targets this summer.
The report also indicates that the Lakers would be interested in pursuing Kyle Lowry, should Kawhi Leonard leave Toronto and the Raptors opt towards a rebuild.
The Washington Wizards have yet to signal whether or not they're willing to move on from the 25-year-old this offseason. He's set to earn $55 million over the next two seasons. He averaged 25.6 points per game in 2018 on 47.5% shooting and would immediately be an upgrade over the Lakers' current options at shooting guard.
Derrick Favors is also on Los Angeles' radar, though his availability hinges on whether or not the Utah Jazz decline their team option on him. The 27-year-old averaged 11.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last year.
While the Lakers are still keen on luring Anthony Davis to the Staples Center, as well as trying to sign Kyrie Irving during the offseason, it seems the organization has its sight set on various high priority assets, and is willing to make a blockbuster trade to acquire their targets.
Whatever they case may be, the Lakers seem set on bringing in some fresh new faces for the 2019 season. LeBron James needs contention-ready teammates, and that's exactly what the Lakers seek this offseason.
