Lakers Reportedly Opening Practice Facility on Saturday
By Tyler Kemp
Before thinking about how to proceed with re-starting the season, the NBA and its teams are trying to figure out ways to allow players to work out in their respective practice facilities. For certain teams, the process is going to be expedited based on state laws in relation to stay-at-home orders. For others, it will be more difficult to get back on the practice court.
One of the teams that's moving quickly through this process is the Los Angeles Lakers. The team with the best record in the Western Conference is looking at a reopening of their facility on Saturday. California has had difficulty dealing with COVID-19, and the Lake Show will have to take that into account for when the facilities open.
Although it's a small step in the process of ultimately finishing the 2019-20 season, fans are looking forward to their favorite players such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the crew taking the floor in safe and socially-distanced workouts in LA.
More teams are expected to follow suit as time goes on. Making sure that the league does not overstep the boundaries of moving too quickly will be important. Until then, Lakers basketball is back in a practice format starting tomorrow.
