Lakers Reportedly Set Sights on Kemba Walker After Landing Anthony Davis From Pelicans
By Karl Rasmussen
The Lakers offseason is going just as well as the team could have hoped for, early on. Despite (most likely) missing out on Kyrie Irving, who seems destined to join the Nets, LA still managed to acquire Anthony Davis via trade with the Pelicans.
Now that they have their big man of the future locked down, the team is reportedly keen on adding a point guard. And with Irving likely not available, the team has set its sights on Hornets star Kemba Walker.
This makes a ton of sense considering the Lakers just traded away Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart to New Orleans, effectively leaving the team without a starting-caliber point guard on the roster. Acquiring Walker would fill that hole, as well as add another All-NBA talent to the mix in Los Angeles.
If the Lakers can lure Walker away from Charlotte, a city he has shown tremendous loyalty to, then they would become arguably the fiercest team in the Western Conference.
Walker is coming off one of his best season's in the league, having averaged a career-high 25.6 points per game, alongside 5.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds. He drained 43.4% of his field goal attempts while knocking down 3.2 3's per game at a 35.6% clip.
Lakers fans are licking their chops at the thought of adding Walker to the pairing of LeBron and AD, and rightfully so.
