Lakers Release Statement After Kobe Bryant Death Including Link to Help Families of Victims

The Los Angeles Lakers had been quiet on social media following the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. That is more than understandable given the terrible circumstances.
The team tweeted out a thread Wednesday night to address the tragedy.
We are devastated and have been forever changed by the sudden loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna. We send our love to Vanessa, the Bryant family, and to the families of the other passengers.

The Lakers kept it short and to the point. The more formal tributes will take place throughout the rest of the season at Staples Center.
The Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to support the families affected by this tragedy. To help, please visit https://t.co/e4Je5ORGC2. For those who are inspired to continue Kobe and Gianna’s legacy in youth sports, please visit https://t.co/KsaefpUNGf

The team finished the thread by offering up links to help out the families of the tragedy, along with a link to donate to the Mamba Sports Foundation.
There is only so much the team can say on social media after such a tragedy and this was a nice professional and proper series of tweets. The Lakers likely have big plans for a major Bryant tribute and it is better to save that for a game instead of trying to rush just to post something on Twitter.
