Lakers to Wear 'KB' Patch on Friday vs Blazers in Honor of Kobe Bryant
By Karl Rasmussen
The Los Angeles Lakers have announced yet another touching tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.
During Friday's game with the Portland Trail Blazers, the Lakers will wear a 'KB' patch on their jerseys in honor the franchise legend.
The KB patch is the same logo that has been painted on the floor at Staples Center along the sideline, in what was another of the team's many gestures.
Bryant, along with eight others including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, passed away in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif. on Sunday. Since then, the basketball community has been honoring Bryant and those who lost their lives.
Expect emotions to be high in Los Angeles tonight as the Lakers take the court for their first game since the tragedy.
This is far from the only tribute to Bryant fans will see tonight, as seats at Staples Center will have a No. 8 or No. 24 jersey waiting for fans, and there will be tribute videos played throughout the night, in what should be a truly heartfelt evening in Los Angeles.
