Lamar Jackson Officially Ended NFL MVP Conversation Thursday Night
By Scott Rogust

Just a month ago, the NFL MVP pool was a crowded one. Deshaun Watson, Christian McCaffrey, Russell Wilson, and Dak Prescott were all in the conversation of winning the award.
Ladies and gentlemen, the conversation is over as of Thursday night. The MVP award belongs to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

In Week 15, the Ravens had a gimme game against the lowly New York Jets. This was a game for Jackson to prove his case and silence his critics. And boy did he ever in the Ravens 42-21 win over the Jets.
Firstly, Jackson entered M&T Bank Stadium just 23 yards shy of Michael Vick's single-season rushing record. The former Louisville Cardinal didn't take long to get cross that accomplishment off his list, as he conquered it on Baltimore's very first drive of the game.

Jackson has been criticized for his non-traditional quarterback style ever since declaring for the NFL Draft back in 2018. In fact, scouts viewed him more as a running back or wide receiver than a signal caller. Those scouts should hand in their credentials and never be allowed to evaluate college players again.
The Ravens stud quarterback completed 15-of-23 pass attempts for 212 yards and FIVE TOUCHDOWNS. That's insane for such a low amount of passing plays. Oh, and Jackson leads the league in passing touchdowns.
Perhaps what's most entertaining about Jackson is his fearless attitude in rather difficult situations. Facing fourth-and-one in the third quarter, Jackson called off the special teams unit, and turned it into a 36-yard pass play to tight end Mark Andrews.

Jackson has not only led the Baltimore Ravens to a 12-2 record and the AFC North crown, but he's completely changed the identity of the team. Known originally as a smash mouth defensive team, Jackson has turned the Ravens into an electric offensive team, one in which we've never seen before.
Jackson is the 2019 MVP, and it should be unanimous.
