Landon Collins Throws Shade at Dave Gettleman With Answer to LSU-Bama Question
By Jerry Trotta
For any New York Giants fans still wondering if safety Landon Collins holds a grudge against polarizing general manager Dave Gettleman, well, you finally have your answer.
The three-time Pro Bowler, now with the Washington Redskins, fired off a shameless dig at Gettleman in a response to a clever "would you rather" question about Alabama and LSU on Twitter.
Just a week?!
To say that the bitterness between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide runs deep would be a massive understatement. For those wondering, the rivalry dates all the way back to 1895.
Collins, a former star in Tuscaloosa, not even hesitating to say that he'd enroll his kids in Baton Rouge makes it abundantly clear that he still has a significant gripe with Gettleman.
Giants supporters will be quick to remember that Gettleman refused to make Collins one of the highest-paid safeties in the NFL. The 69-year-old exec followed that up by bizarrely holding onto the former second-round pick beyond the 2018 trade deadline.
Rather than trade him for assets and potentially some draft capital, Gettleman let Collins walk for nothing in free agency...right to a division rival.
Collins enjoyed his time in East Rutherford, where he emerged as an elite DB, and had every intention of signing an extension with the Giants. Gettleman deprived him of that opportunity, and 26-year-old doesn't appear to be letting bygones be bygones anytime soon.
