One Surprise Cut the Las Vegas Raiders Could Still Make This Offseason

Nicholas Morrow is not supposed to be in the NFL, as he attended a small Division III school called Greenville University in Illinois with 932 total students. He worked his way onto the then-Oakland Raiders' roster thanks to a tryout, and he recently signed a one-year deal with the Silver and Black.

Unfortunately, Morrow might not be along for the Las Vegas transition, as the Raiders added plenty of depth at the linebacker spot heading into the new campaign.

The Raiders signed Nick Kwiatkowski, a tremendous run-stuffer who was often overshadowed by Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan with the Chicago Bears. New middle linebacker Cory Littleton is a former Pro Bowler who has 259 tackles and 7.5 sacks over his last two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. The presence of those two might relegate Morrow to backup duty.

The player who will really make it difficult for Morrow to stick around is former Clemson safety Tanner Muse, a 230-pounder with 4.4 speed that the Raiders will use at linebacker. Morrow needs to prove his coverage skills are up to par if he wants to stick around as a backup.

Morrow's perseverance and drive to even get this far deserves noting but praise, but Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden's desire to load up on linebackers this offseason could force Morrow to look elsewhere for employment.
