Raiders Need to Hurry up and Sign 2020 Breakout Candidate Breshad Perriman
By Scott Rogust
The Las Vegas Raiders entered this offseaosn with the goal of putting together a roster that can sell out the brand-new Allegiant Stadium this fall. Perhaps the Raiders' most glaring need is at the wide receiver position, and as of this writing, they've failed to make an addition. While options like Robby Anderson and Emmanuel Sanders are still available and have taken up much of the conversation, the Vegas boys can get a quality receiver who will arrive on cheap but could be on the brink of a big season.
We're talking about Breshad Perriman.
Perriman was viewed as a first-round draft bust during his tenure with the Baltimore Ravens, and didn't really catch on with the Washington Redskins or Cleveland Browns. But he truly found his calling once joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.
The move was never supposed to happen, as he agreed to a deal with the Browns a year ago. But after Cleveland acquired Odell Beckham Jr. in a trade with the New York Giants, Perriman reneged on his agreement and joined the Bucs, and it proved to be the greatest decision of his career.
Perriman proved his worth once stud receiver Mike Evans went down with injuries, as he put up consecutive 100-yard performances in the final three games of the season. Through 14 games, Perriman recorded 36 receptions for 645 yards and six touchdowns.
With a full-time workload, Perriman has a chance to be a true standout performer. He would be an impact addition to the Raider offense working alongside Tyrell Williams and tight end Darren Waller. General manager Mike Mayock should seriously consider bringing him in, as there's just too much upside to pass up.
