Latest Update on Gordon Hayward's Foot Doesn't Sound Good for the Celtics

Boston Celtics' star Gordon Hayward came back this season looking a lot better than he had since joining the team. However, after a hand injury and another foot injury, Hayward finds himself already having missed 16 out of 27 games.
While everything is progressing smoothly and Hayward has been bumped up to day-to-day status, the team still doesn't know what's wrong with his foot, which cannot be good moving forward.
Gordon Hayward has had three cortisone shots in his foot. He thinks the most recent one might have hit the right spot.

The fact that Hayward needed three cortisone shots for an injury that has yet to be diagnosed is troubling.
Gordon Hayward: "That’s kind of been the frustrating piece is that we haven’t figured out exactly what the issue is. Structurally my foot is fine. We did all the imaging we needed to do and did it a second time as well. So I hope this cortisone injection works."

Hayward has been on the shelf since after the team's Dec. 12 game against the 76ers.
It's evident fans are frustrated that he's been unable to catch on and consistently stay on the court, but we can only imagine how hard this is for Hayward, who was expected to help turn the Celtics into title contenders. He was a big reason the Utah Jazz were able to turn their fortunes around and he's been unable to make that impression in Boston.
Fans can only hope another concerning injury doesn't continue to hinder his production.
