Latest Update on Michael Wacha Indicates He'll Miss NLDS if Cardinals Make it
By Parker White

The St. Louis Cardinals are going to be down a pitcher heading into the playoffs it seems.
Fans probably won't see starter Michael Wacha in the NLDS if the Cardinals get there, as the right-hander has a strained shoulder and won't throw until mid-week.
Michael Wacha has strained shoulder. Not throwing till midweek, so doubtful if #Cardinals play in NLDS. https://t.co/jcX7jO0Nnz

Overall, it's been a rough 2019 campaign for Wacha, who in 29 appearances (24 starts) owns a 4.76 ERA and has just 104 strikeouts over 126.2 innings. However, in five September starts, the 28-year-old posted a 2.70 ERA, and some were hoping he'd carry that momentum into October.
Michael Wacha has a right shoulder strain and will not be throwing the next couple of days, per Girsch. Availability doubtful if the #STLCards go to the NLDS.

Unless St. Louis can make a deep run, Wacha's last start a couple days ago during which he left with an injury was could be his last as a member of the Cardinals, as he's set to hit free agency this upcoming offseason.
