Latest Update Shows Jerry Jones Has Clearly Been Lying to Us About Dak Prescott Extension
By Michael Luciano
Once again, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has played us all for fools.
After giving off the impression the team and quarterback Dak Prescott were close to agreeing on a contract extension, the latest report from Adam Schefter completely contradicts that, as he claims Prescott is nowhere near signing a new contract.
Dak's hot start to the season under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has probably thrown whatever numbers Jones and the team had in mind totally out of the window. Prescott has completed 74 percent of his throws, racking up 920 yards and nine touchdowns in his first three games, albeit against the Giants, Redskins and Dolphins.
The contracts given out to Ezekiel Elliott and Jaylon Smith, as well as the impending extensions for the likes of Leighton Vander Esch, could put the Cowboys in a bit of a bind as far as the cap logistics are concerned, but their hand might be forced after the red hot start to the season Prescott has had.
Dak has proven himself to be a high-level starting quarterback in this league, and now the time has come to pay him, as Jones would be laughed out of the building if he let Prescott walk out the door.
