Le'Veon Bell Tweets Out Support for Ezekiel Elliott During Holdout From Cowboys Camp
By Kevin Aquino
Le’Veon Bell is no stranger to holdouts, and it looks like he’s trying to help Ezekiel Elliott get paid.
Bell sent out a short and straightforward tweet earlier today in response to a "Zeke Watch" update:
The former Steelers running back became the second-highest paid player at his position when he signed with the New York Jets earlier this year. Bell missed the entirety of the 2018 NFL season due to his holdout in Pittsburgh, but was selected to the Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro in 2017.
Things seemed to be looking up for Elliott and the Cowboys, but the latest update suggests everything has gone downhill from there.
Elliott refusing to suit up for Dallas without a new contract could lead to the 24-year-old following in Bell's footsteps. If Zeke's first priority is to make big money, it isn't a stretch to say that he could miss an entire season to prove his point.
Players are looking to take hold of their own future and let everyone know their worth. A deal between Zeke and the Cowboys could still be reached, but it doesn't seem likely any time soon...especially with what Jerry Jones had to say about the whole ordeal just days ago.
