LeBron James Announces 'I PROMISE' Housing for Akron Students and Struggling Families

LeBron James is really the gift that keeps on giving.
Not only is the Lakers superstar still dominating on the court at the age of 34, but he's also impacting the lives of so many off it as well. Most of us know about his I PROMISE school that opened in 2018, which provides high quality education to hundreds of inner-city children.
In 2018, LeBron James opened an elementary school in his hometown of Akron, OH. In its first year, 90% of its students met or exceeded their expected growth in math and reading. @KingJames, students, staff, and the Akron community should be proud. https://t.co/oluYGXE4CB

But now James is taking it a step further by announcing the "I PROMISE Village." Partnering with Graduate Hotels, the new project will provide transitional housing for students and families faced with various challenges in the Akron area.

LeBron explained his reasoning for starting this, saying that no matter how good a school is, a child can't reach his or her full potential if not given the proper housing and care.
The charitable acts keep coming from LeBron, as he's clearly demonstrated that he's not just talk when it comes to social change. Hopefully other athletes follow in his footsteps and come up with more innovative ways give back to their communities.
