After Daryl Morey decided to publicly support Hong Kong in their fight for independence, China immediately denounced the league and censored its citizens' access to the games. This has been made even more awkward as multiple teams are in the country right now for preseason games.

Many players have been caught in the controversy as well. Rockets star James Harden was recently asked about the issue, only to have the league's PR shut down any questions regarding the topic. To avoid more moments like this, LeBron James has decided to seek help on how to handle what's going on.

James reportedly talked directly to Adam Silver in a meeting with other players, trying to get clarification on what a player should and shouldn't say. Many aren't informed on all the details or the context of the situation, so they must receive preparation to avoid any further controversy.

Supposedly, some players in the meeting also had an issue with Morey not receiving further punishment.

Silver has been put in an almost impossible situation. On one hand, he can direct the league to bow down to the Chinese government to get them to remove the censorship. This, however, will make the league look like hypocrites as they consistently promote free speech on a myriad of issues.

The other option is to stand up to the government. That would be much more admirable, but they would also take a huge financial hit by losing an enormous market.
