LenDale White Repeatedly Savages Philip Rivers in NSFW Fashion Over Melvin Gordon Comments
By Sam Dunn
Well, that escalated quickly.
LenDale White, a name neither you nor I have heard for quite some time, had himself a strong reaction to Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers' reaction to franchise running back Melvin Gordon's ongoing holdout. Rivers noted that "[W]e’re going to go with what we’ve got" while Gordon is absent in search of a new contract. "It’s a pretty dang good group," the QB added.
White, a former NFL running back best kown as a collegiate bruiser at USC, felt a certain way about that.
Well, then.
LenDale clearly felt that Rivers should have been unequivocal in advocating for Gordon securing the bag. And if you thought that he was going to shake himself out of that mood eventually, you'd be wrong. He doubled down on Twitter Saturday afternoon.
Running backs don't typically last so long in the NFL, and for obvious reasons. It's clearly a special kind of priority to get paid as quickly as possible. And while Gordon may well end up getting a new, handsome contract, there are no guarantees in a league so utterly dominated by its owners.
In the meantime, White isn't the only one disappointed in Rivers' seeming indifference here.
Yep, this thing isn't over. Not even close.
