LeSean McCoy Posts Classy Farewell to Bills on Twitter
By Jerry Trotta
Adam Schefter dropped the first genuine bomb of the NFL's annual cut day on Saturday when he reported the Buffalo Bills were moving on from LeSean McCoy after four seasons.
Following his surprising release, the 31-year-old tailback had gone AWOL on social media, a platform where he is normally a consistent presence. Eventually, however, McCoy broke his silence Sunday night with a touching farewell to the city of Buffalo and the Bills organization.
That's as classy as classy gets, ladies and gents. And we'd expect nothing less from the consummate professional reputation that he's built over his 10 years in the league.
His transition from Philadelphia, a city where most expected he'd spend the entirety of his career, was no doubt an awkward one. However, Bills Mafia eased that burden by accepting the Pittsburgh product as one of their own almost immediately.
McCoy wasn't a free agent for long as he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs roughly 24 hours later in a long-awaited reunion with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid.
Now that the former second-round pick has officially paid his respects to the Bills franchise, both sides can officially move on and look forward to the 2019 season.
