Letter to Vontaze Burfict From NFL's Jon Runyan Announcing Season-Long Suspension is Perfect
By Thomas Carannante

The NFL has finally made a non-controversial decision that will put the league in a positive light.
Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict has been banned for the remainder of the season for his illegal and insanely dangerous hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle. Here's what Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan wrote in his letter to the veteran linebacker:
Here is the official announcement on #Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict, who is suspended without pay for the rest of 2019. Jon Runyan wrote: “There were no mitigating circumstances on this play.” pic.twitter.com/DdoXyTb5ax

No sign off. Absolutely savage to end it saying, "Your extensive history of rules violations is factored into this decision regarding accountability measures."
Perfect. We couldn't have said it any better, Jon.
Fans have been calling for Burfict's permanent ban from the league given his history of dirty play, and now that player safety is among the most paramount issues, his heinous acts have continually been thrust into the spotlight, resulting in ire from players, pundits, coaches and others.
If Vontaze Burfict is suspended for rest of season, as @mortreport reports, it would be the longest suspension for an on-field act in NFL history.

Albert Haynesworth was suspended five games for kicking, then stomping on Cowboys’ C Andre Gurode’s face. Gurode needed 30 stitches.
Now, he's part of history for all the wrong reasons and will have to live with that for the rest of his career.
