Le'Veon Bell Pens Emotional Tweet After Jets' Matchup With Steelers
By Jerry Trotta
It's safe to say that Le'Veon Bell burned a few bridges in Pittsburgh when he decided to sit out the entire 2018 campaign in search of a new contract from the Steelers.
Some fans in Pittsburgh still may never forgive Bell for his antics, and the Pro Bowl tailback was surely hit with a wave of emotions when he faced off against his former team on Sunday.
To summarize the experience, Bell took to Twitter following the game to shoutout the city of Pittsburgh, the Steelers organization, and a few individuals with whom he made lifelong friendships.
It was certainly a relief to see that Bell was greeted with more cheers than jeers. Granted, that narrative could be turned on its head had the tilt been played at Heinz Field.
The New York Jets ultimately emerged victorious, but it was clearly all love once the fourth quarter clock showed zeroes and players made their way to midfield.
Bell even caught up with Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert moments before kickoff.
Holy nostalgia.
This was an anticipated matchup as soon as the NFL released the schedule for 2019, and Bell handled the potentially awkward encounter quite swimmingly.
