Lions Agree to Deal With Former Packers DL Mike Daniels

It looks like defensive lineman Mike Daniels won't be leaving the NFC North after all, as according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 30-year-old defensive end is finalizing a deal with the Detroit Lions.

Turns out, there's plenty of guaranteed cash in here for Daniels.

Former Packers’ Pro Bowl Mike Daniels officially signed a one-year, $9.1 million deal that includes $7.8 million fully guaranteed with the Detroit Lions, per source.

A few days ago, the Pro Bowl lineman was shockingly cut by the Green Bay Packers. Daniels did meet with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, but it appears he was more enticed by the Lions, and he gets to stay in the same division, where he gets to face his former team.

Daniels, who played in only 10 games last season because of a foot injury, joins a Lions defensive front that features Trey Flowers, Darius Kilgo, Austin Bryant and P.J. Johnson. Flowers is currently out and placed on the PUP list.

Another swing and a miss for Cleveland, a crew that missed out on Gerald McCoy earlier this offseason in their ongoing DT hunt.
