Lions DB Might Have Worst Name in NFL History

There are plenty of interesting names to have passed through the echelons of NFL history. However, this particular name might take the crown as one of the most unfortunate, perhaps in all of sports.

Dee Virgin is a backup cornerback on the Detroit Lions who, due to a confounding number of injuries to their secondary, has seen some game action this season.

Let's just stop at his name and allow you to say it out loud a couple of times.

It's worth wondering how the announcers for Lions games pronounce his name. They really have to be careful to enunciate the letter D while saying his name, or else he might be known forever to Lions fans as The Virgin.

In the end, as much as people want to take the low road and make fun of Virgin's name, he's the one playing in the NFL right now and living out his dream. The Chattanooga product has seen a decent amount of snaps in every game the Lions have played this year, and has logged six tackles and a forced fumble.

Admittedly though, it's hilarious to think about Lions fans chanting Virgin's name at games.

Maybe he'll sign an endorsement deal with Richard Branson somewhere down the line.
