Lions IT Director is Literally Set up in Bob Quinn's Driveway in Case of Technical Difficulties
By Michael Luciano
Like many NFL GMs, Detroit Lions draft mastermind Bob Quinn is concerned that the draft being held electronically could cause some complications with getting picks in on time.
In an attempt to eliminate any technological concerns, Lions IT director Steve Lancaster will be stationed outside Quinn's house inside of a Winnebago, which could allow him to jump in and save the day should the technology cause some issues.
While Joe Burrow and Chase Young are expected to go off the board to the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins with the first two picks, Detroit has the potential to change the entire draft at pick No. 3 overall. Detroit had long been figured to take either Ohio State's Jeff Okudah or Auburn's Derrick Brown at pick No. 3, but recent reports have linked them to Clemson's Isaiah Simmons.
There is also no guarantee that the Lions will hold onto that pick, as they have furiously been exploring any and every way they could trade down to acquire more picks, which might require scrambling from this van, which may or may not be a rockin'.
On what will be a pivotal night for the Lions franchise, Detroit getting their picks in on time could hinge on an IT guy operating out of a van in the middle of Michigan. These are indeed some strange times.
