Lions QB Matthew Stafford Dealing With Back and Hip Injury and Could Miss Week 10 Clash vs Bears
By Karl Rasmussen
Matthew Stafford has been on fire of late, having thrown for at least 340 yards and three touchdowns in each of his past three outings. And with the Lions preparing for a rivalry matchup in Chicago for Week 10, the team is hoping that their star QB will be out on the field, despite being listed as questionable.
According to Ian Rapoport, Stafford is dealing with back and hip issues, which has the team concerned about his status for Sunday's tilt.
Stafford is reportedly expected to be a game-time decision for the matchup with the Bears.
Should the 31-year-old not be able to take the field, former Bengals QB Jeff Driskel will likely draw the start under center.
On the season, Stafford has logged 2,499 passing yards to go with 19 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He has completed 64.3% of his pass attempts, and paces the league with his average of 312.4 passing yards per game.
Over the past three weeks, Stafford has looked like a true MVP candidate, throwing for 10 touchdowns and three interceptions, combining for 1,112 yards through the air.
Stafford's absence would be a big blow for Detroit in a must-win rivalry game with Chicago so keep looking out for updates on the status of the former No. 1 overall pick.
