Lions Sign Former Seahawks Wide Receiver Jermaine Kearse
By Daniel Lubofsky

The Detroit Lions will beef up their receiving core, as it's been announced the team has signed wideout Jermaine Kearse to a one-year deal.
A former Super Bowl Champion with the Seattle Seahawks, Kearse last suited up for the New York Jets last season. While there, he started just nine games on his way to 37 receptions for 371 yards and a touchdown.

The signing likely rounds out a busy offseason for the Lions, where a 6-10 record led to some changes. Other players brought in include wide receivers Danny Amendola and Tommylee Lewis, as well as running back C.J. Anderson.
Kearse's presence in Detroit reunites him with his former offensive coordinator in Darrell Bevell. The two were together in Seattle for five seasons, with Bevell helping the team reach two consecutive Super Bowls for the 2013 and 2014 campaigns.
The Lions announce they’ve signed former Jets and Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse. Kearse spent 5 years in Seattle with new #Lions OC Darrell Bevell so he should be able to pick up this offense quickly.

The Lions will open up the 2019 NFL season against the Arizona Cardinals before three consecutive matchups against playoff opponents from last season.
