Lions trade D'Andre Swift to the Philadelphia Eagles

When the Detroit Lions used a first-round pick on Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs, plenty of people couldn't believe it. Why would they go after a RB at No. 12 overall when they already have D'Andre Swift and David Montgomery?
Well, it looks like the Lions had a feeling that Swift wouldn't make it to Week 1 with the organization. On Saturday morning, Detroit ended up trading him to the Eagles. Whoa.
The #Lions are trading starting RB D'Andre Swift, sources tell me and @TomPelissero, sending him to the #Eagles in exchange for draft pick compensation. With David Montgomery and now first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs, Swift heads out. pic.twitter.com/gyUBnUuVCY

Swift is a speedster and he showed flashes of brilliance while with Detroit. Now, he'll join a loaded offense in Philly. This is another big get for the Eagles and Howie Roseman.
