Lions Wisely Declare Matthew Stafford Out Again Sunday With Back Fractures
By Chris Russo

Considering the Detroit Lions are playing one of the worst teams in the NFL this Sunday, rushing back their franchise signal caller would have been a mistake.
The Lions say Matthew Stafford will not play this week against the Washington Redskins due to his back injury, which we believe is the right call.

Stafford last played in Week 9, a 31-24 loss in Oakland, and the Lions have lost every game since. The Lions' 3-6-1 record, plus their underwhelming opponent this week, makes it even more rational to sit Stafford.
Though they sit at a disappointing 3-6-1, backup quarterback Jeff Driskel played admirably against the Dallas Cowboys last week. Driskel went 15 of 26 for 209 yards and two touchdowns. While that stat line is not mind-blowing, he almost led the Lions to victory in a 35-27 game.

Lions fans will have to wait a little longer for Stafford to get back on the field. For now, the Driskel show goes on.
