List of Players the Patriots Have Lost This Offseason is Truly Mind-Boggling
By Michael Luciano
The New England Patriots parting ways with Tom Brady was obviously the main story of their 2020 offseason, but that shouldn't overshadow the realization that Bill Belichick has parted ways with countless other key players on offense and defense, too.
In addition to Brady, New England has let starters like Jamie Collins, Duron Harmon, and Kyle Van Noy go, either through trade or free agency.
Three linebackers, a stud defensive lineman, a consistent safety, and a quality center. When you also consider that wide receiver Philip Dorsett and offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse are free agents, this list could grow even longer.
The worst part about this offseason for New England is that they have done barely anything to replace the waves of players who have left, as former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Damiere Byrd and former All-Pro safety Adrian Phillips hav been their only signings so far.
The Patriots are used to letting a lot of talented players leave in free agency because they don't want to overpay for them. They are NOT used to seeing their starting quarterback numbering amongst the departed. Unless Jarrett Stidham suddenly morphs into Tom Brady, New England is headed for a major regression in 2020.
