VIDEO: Spanish Call of Yadier Molina's Cardinals Walk-Off Featuring His Brother Bengie is Perfect
By Michael Luciano
What's better than a Molina brother walkoff? How about a Molina brother calling a Molina brother walkoff on Spanish radio? Former Angels catcher Bengie Molina has been doing Spanish language commentary for the 2019 NLDS series between the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals alongside booth mate Polo Ascensio. In the tenth inning of Game 4, little bro Yadier Molina smacked a walk-off sac fly to tie the series at two games apiece, and the duo's call was nothing short of sublime.
You literally couldn't get a more perfect call than a bit of brother-to-brother brilliance.
The younger Molina, who followed Bengie and Jose to the big leagues, added yet another legendary postseason moment to his resume, as he tied former Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek for second all-time in postseason RBIs by a backstop. Only Yankees legend Jorge Posada has more.
Yadi might not be having his best statistical season to this point, but he is still capable of drawing upon the endless reservoir of Cardinals devil magic and pull out another improbable win late in the game.
