Little-Known Packers UDFA's Pro Day Was the Stuff of Legend
By Michael Luciano
A French-Canadian safety who will turn 26 in September very rarely ends up as one of the most interesting rookies on a given roster, but the Green Bay Packers might have unearthed such a phenom in Montreal safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy, as evidenced by his insane Pro Day.
Deqouy posted a 4.36 40-yard dash, 6.65 three-cone, and 37-inch vertical at 6-3 and 200 pounds despite the fact he was dealing with bronchitis at the time.
Not only did he confirm that he is a premium athlete, but he did so without being able to breathe properly. This was the Michael Jordan flu game of pro days.
Dequoy made a name for himself with some solid play at the East-West Shrine Bowl, as his athleticism and speed helped him make plays against the best competition he's faced in his football career. If he fails to stick with the Packers, he'll have a home back in his native Canada, as he was selected in the second round of the CFL Draft by the Montreal Alouettes.
As if you needed more confirmation that Dequoy is one of the most interesting players in this draft class, he played his college ball for the Montreal Carabins, and "carabine" is French for carbine assault rife. The story of Dequoy keeps getting better and better.
