Logan Morrison Claims Astros Sign-Stealing Scandal Dates Much Further Back Than Rob Manfred Report Indicates
By Jerry Trotta
The MLB drew the wrath of fans in the wake of their longer-than-expected investigation into the Houston Astros' damning sign-stealing endeavors.
Well, the league rewarded their patience on Monday by laying down a monstrous mallet on the Stros. The shocking revelation subsequently saw GM Jeff Luhnow and AJ Hinch axed, and a "harsh" penalty for Alex Cora is reportedly waiting to be unleashed.
Most would maintain the settlement that the punishment fits the crime, but Brewers outfielder Logan Morrison took to Instagram in the wake of the bombshell report to assert that the Astros' antics date as far back as 2014.
Morrison claims that, during his tenure with the Mariners, he would hear a similar "banging" sound to that of the trash can inside Houston's dugout which ultimately proved to be damning evidence against the club.
It's certainly interesting, but we're not sure if Morrison's claims hold any sort of value now that the punishments have been levied.
Will Morrison take things a step further and attempt to convey his claims to Manfred? Who knows.
To even think about the possibility of this scandal dating back SIX seasons is eye-opening to say the least. We obviously aren't fully persuaded, but Morrison has absolutely garnered our attention.
