Longtime Dallas Morning News Cowboys Writer Jon Machota Leaving for The Athletic

Attention, Dallas Cowboys fans: If you generally turn to Jon Machota as your go-to reporter for all the buzz, analysis, and rumors surrounding America's Team, you will no longer find his work at The Dallas Morning News.
After nine years at the news outlet as a freelance and beat writer, Machota will now be taking his talents to renowned publication The Athletic. The longtime Cowboys writer took to Twitter Monday morning in a heartfelt fashion to announce the move.

Machota even detailed his overall passion for covering the Cowboys and why he opted to take on a new challenge at The Athletic in a touching cover story for their website.
