Losing to Michigan State Would Be Another Fireable Offense for Jim Harbaugh
By Parker White

The expectation for Jim Harbaugh when he became the head coach at Michigan was to be contending for a national title every year. Well, that hasn't been the case over his five-year tenure in Ann Arbor.
But hey, as long as he does well against Michigan's bitter rivals, Ohio State and Michigan State, he'll stick around for quite awhile, right?

That could be true, but Harbaugh hasn't delivered on that either, as he's never beaten the Buckeyes over his time as the Wolverines head coach, and in four games against the Spartans he's just 2-2.
If the Wolverines don't win today against a middling 4-5 Spartans team, they'll have to seriously considering finding themselves another "Michigan man" to replace Harbaugh.
These aren't the same Mark Dantonio-led Spartans, so they should be able to get it done rather easily, especially at home. However, the last time these two teams met in Ann Arbor, it was Michigan State who came out on top, 14-10.
Under Harbaugh, Michigan is 29-4 at home, which is the 6th-best home record among P5 schools in that span.

The four losses though are to only two teams: Michigan State and Ohio State.

This Michigan program can't keep waiting around. If Harbaugh can't even beat a less-than stellar Michigan State team at home, he has to go.
