LSU Somehow Behind Alabama and FSU for Stud 2021 Louisiana Receiver
By Max Bevington

The LSU Tigers have long had a rock-solid grip on recruiting in the state of Louisiana. It's not often that a top talent evades them.
That is not the case with 4-star wide receiver Desytn Pazon, however, as Florida State and Alabama are considered to be ahead of the Bayou Bengals in the race for the New Orleans native, per the latest buzz from Rivals analyst Sam Speigelman.

This surely comes as a shock to Ed Orgeron and Co., who not only tend to land the best Louisiana prep football prospects, but also have one of the best track records for developing wide receivers that go on to make it big in the NFL. Just last season, LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson racked up a massive 1,540 receiving yards, and went on to be selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
To be fair, though, there are actually solid reasons for why LSU trails FSU and Alabama. Pazon has a strong personal relationship with both Florida State head coach Mike Norvell and assistant coach David Johnson.
“Coach [David Johnson] YAC is really like family. Coach Dugans shows a lot of energy and I can tell they want me. I’m really leaning towards Florida State.”

Despite Pazon's connection to the Seminoles, he has stated that he is curious to see if LSU's offense will still be elite without passing game coordinator Joe Brady.
If the Tigers are able to convince Pazon that their offense will not take a big step back from last year's national championship season, Coach O will have his chance to close the gap and make his big play for the New Orleans standout.
