After rising to the top of the college football totem poll, the LSU Tigers have been blazing hot on the recruiting trail.
The Bayou Bengals' success continued on Friday with 4-star in-state quarterback Walker Howard announcing his commitment to Coach O's squad for the 2022 recruiting class.

The No. 62 overall prospect per 247Sports, Howard is as of now the highest-rated quarterback from Louisiana since Ryan Perrilloux in 2005.
A commitment from a top Louisiana football prospect is certainly encouraging for the LSU coaching staff, especially as they're lagging behind Florida State and Alabama for a top in-state wide receiver in the 2021 class.
Howard announced his commitment to the Tigers in a heartwarming video posted to his Twitter account in which he dedicated his choice to his mother, who died of cancer when he was a freshman in high school.
Howard's mom loved LSU football, and in perhaps the most touching part of his commitment video, hr places an LSU jersey with his name on it at his mom's grave.

Absolutely amazing.
Howard has another parental connection to the Tigers with his dad Jamie, who started at quarterback for the program in the 1900s.
Scouts have judged Howard as a quarterback with consistent, accurate passing and promising athleticism, so Tigers fans will be keeping a close eye on his progression in 2021.
