LSU Rebounds After Losing Recruit to Clemson and Lands 4 Top Players

Today begins the early signing period for some of college football's top recruits.
Things didn't get off to a great start for Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers, having seen one commit, 4-star safety Malcolm Brown, flip to Clemson.
Fortunately, Coach O and Co. rebounded well and were able to lock down four top players from the class.

4-star linebacker Antoine Sampah, a Virginia native, is headed to Baton Rouge to join the Tigers. The Woodbridge HS standout is rated as the No. 4 middle linebacker in the class and the No. 2 prospect out of Virginia.
The Tigers then moved to sign 4-star defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory.

Guillory stands in at 6-2 and weighs 325 pounds, hailing from Alexandria, La. He was the fourth ranked player out of his state and the No. 14 overall defensive tackle in the class.
DBU continued to add to its arsenal of elite secondary members, having received a letter of intent from 5-star cornerback Elias Ricks.

Ricks is the No. 2 ranked cornerback in the country and is anticipated to be an early enrollee for the Tigers.
The final addition was four-star pro-style QB Max Johnson.

Johnson ranks as the No. 10 pro-style QB in the nation and the 252nd overall recruit in the class. The Watkinsville, Ga. native chose LSU over Florida State and Miami.
While losing a player with Greene's upside to an elite program like Clemson will certainly sting, the handful of meaning additions made by the Tigers certainly outweigh missing out one safety.

Expect the Tigers to continue to clean up as recruiting season chugs along. After all, with the season they've had, the Tigers may be the most sought after destination in the country.
