Luke Voit Still Undecided on Undergoing Sports Hernia Surgery and Encouraged by Progress

While the New York Yankees are making waves throughout the baseball world due to their six-game winning streak entering Tuesday night, they've also created headlines due to the injury bug that has taken up residency in the clubhouse.
One of their recent casualties was first baseman Luke Voit, who was diagnosed with a sports hernia last week. An injury of that nature can be treated with surgery or a rehabilitation plan.
When manager Aaron Boone spoke to the media on Tuesday, he said he spoke with Voit, who remains undecided on whether or not he will opt to receive the surgery.
While a decision is unlikely in the coming days (which is strange, considering the ever-ticking clock), there is some encouragement. Voit stressed to Boone that he felt better when speaking to him this past Sunday.
As has been the theme with the Yankees this season, it's been next man up in the Yankees lineup, and have they ever taken the ball and ran with it. The likes of Mike Tauchman, Breyvic Valera, and Mike Ford have entered the lineup with absolute ease and contributed meaningful hits in Voit's stead.
Still, the Yankees would love to have Voit's energy in the postseason, and likely need to come to a conclusion on a treatment plan soon.
While it does sting that there's no timetable on a Luke Voit decision, Yankees fans should take it with relative ease, considering the ridiculous depth the squad has.
