Magic Johnson Tweets Out Glaringly Obvious Analysis After Lakers' Loss to Clippers
By Karl Rasmussen
Magic Johnson has been frequenting Twitter since his days as a front office member for the Lakers came to an end.
The former NBA great often tweets about the Lakers in his spare time, and he was back at it again with some cutting-edge analysis following the team's loss to the Clippers on Christmas Day.
The Lakers struggled in the second half against the Clippers, and while Magic claims it was just the last five minutes of the game, a simple look into the box score would remind fans that the Lakers were outscored 35-23 in the third quarter.
That's not to say the team didn't falter in the final five minutes. They most certainly did, as LeBron James missed some vital free throws and then had a potential game-tying 3-point attempt blocked by Patrick Beverley with a few seconds remaining.
While Johnson was surely hoping for a better second-half performance from the Lakers, he once again offered next to no useful analysis in his tweet.
The Lakers have lost four straight games, and are now 24-7 on the year. Johnson seems to think they need to find a unit that is capable of shutting the door on teams and closing out games -- something which he may actually be right about.
