Malcolm Brogdon Had Blunt Response When Asked if He Had Wanted to Return to Bucks
By Scott Rogust
Malcolm Brogdon experienced plenty of success in his three seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. From winning NBA Rookie of the Year, to being a part of Bucks' run to the Eastern Conference Final last season, he was an impactful member of the team's recent growth. Yet, when he hit free agency, the Bucks didn't hand over the bag and Brogdon joined the Indiana Pacers on a four-year, $85 million sign-and-trade deal.
Prior to his return to Milwaukee on Sunday, Brogdon was asked by the media why he didn't re-sign with the Bucks. The guard provided a relatively simple answer: the Bucks didn't want him.
Brogdon stresses that he would have loved to rejoin the Bucks, but they didn't give him a contract offer that matched Indiana's.
In his last season with Milwaukee, Brogdon was limited to 64 games due to a plantar fascia tear in his right foot. Even so, Brogdon averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists.
This year with the Pacers, Brogdon has improved on those numbers and is averaging 18.7 points and 7.5 assists.
Yet, Brogdon couldn't lead the Pacers to a win against his former team, as the Bucks blew them out 117-89. The guard made just 5-of-19 field goal attempts for a total of 10 points.
While Malcolm Brogdon feels slighted, the Milwaukee Bucks aren't stressing, as they currently own the best record in the entire NBA. Sorry, Malcolm.
